It is in Tulsa in the new shopping plaza at 60th & Mingo. I stopped in today to pick up our two loaves of bread for the week (my kiddos love toast). So here are the deals I snagged:

1. 45 Calorie per slice whole wheat bread

2. two loaves of the whole grain white bread

3. one package honey wheat dinner rolls

4. two packages of deli/hoagie sandwich rolls

My total with tax was $5.15! Whoo Hoo! That is what I usually spend each week for two loaves of the whole grain white bread alone!

The bread is overstock it is not day-old. All of the items I purchased had Jan 28 expiration dates and we will gobble it up by then! Prices for loaves of bread are 3/$3.00 (you can buy just one for $1 I asked) they have a wide selection and other products as well. I was trying to get home before little guys nap was over so I didn't look at everything but noticed tons of snacky looking stuff (trying to avoid that stuff anyway).

Store is open until 6:00 pm on weekdays and until 5:00 pm on Saturday. Their phone number is 918-893-6556.

Next time I go I will try and pay closer attention to different product details and prices

Recent Ebay Coupon Adventures!

The kids and I have been spending many recent days playing at the indoor play areas at Woodland Hills & Promenade Malls. I started thinking of ways I could get the kids an occasional "treat" while we are there at Chick-Fil-A or Auntie Anne's Pretzels (our two faves). So I decided to look on Ebay for coupons...Jackpot! So far here are my deals:

10 Free Chick-Fil-A Large Sprite coupons $3.12

10 Free Chick-Fil-A Large Diet coke coupons $2.30

10 Free Chick-Fil-A 3 Chicken Strip Pack coupons $10.55

10 Free Chick-Fil-A Chicken Sandwich coupons $14.90

15 BOGO Free Auntie Anne's Pretzel coupons $5.99

So total thus far I have spent about $36 for the coupons but that would be our total for the family at Chick-Fil-A two times! Now everyone is armed with a coupon and it stretches our eating out budget.

Another AWESOME savings coupon I purchased on Ebay is for $1 off one gallon of Borden Milk. I purchased 10 coupons for $1.00 and I can take them to Homeland where they will double them so I can get 1 gallon of milk for approximately $1.80! With the little guy drinking a gallon of milk a week this makes a dent in our weekly grocery bill! I think I had better see if there are any more of these available for sale while I am thinking about it....I have gotten some great deals on cereal lately so we will be using more milk than normal!

Encouraged by "Marley & Me"

Our family has discovered "The Redbox"... Yes, I know "Where have you been?"

We recently rented the movie "Marley & Me" with Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson. Very briefly it is about a young couple, both journalists, marry and move to the city, find jobs and do the career thing. They decide to start a family and here is where the likeness begins. Aniston's character is successful in her career and made a name for herself. She longs to be a mother and once that happens she eventually decides to leave her job to stay home with the kids.

I was encouraged by Aniston's honest portrayal of a career woman turned wife/homemaker/mother and her daily joys and frustrations. It was almost as though I was watching my life on the television. Going from my own career to being a SAHM has given me an education that no student loans could ever pay for! There are days when nothing goes as planned, no laundry gets done, kids are cranky and everything is just topsy turvy. Gone are the days of planning and scheduling and here are my days of feeling like a failure as a mother, wife and homemaker. I joke with friends and family that the "domestic gene skipped me". I actually enjoy cooking, cleaning and laundry just not with a 9 month old screaming and clinging to me and a 3 year old wanting to color, snack, play outside and swim all at the same time.

I say all this to simply say if you feel like your daily frustrations are due to your own lack of ability to maintain the kids and the household chores you need to see this movie. It was encouraging to see that the things I go through and the feelings that I experience are common and perfectly normal. If it is movie worthy then it must have some truth to it and there are many other Super SAHM's that go through exactly what I go through each and every day!

SAHM- Not Exactly What I Thought it Would Be...

First & Foremost: I love my husband and my two children more than I can put into words so please do not take my feelings and twist them into some crazy nonsense that would even hint of anything that remotely suggests otherwise!

Deciding to be a Stay At Home Mom (SAHM) was not an easy decision for me. I have always been career driven and never dreamed that I would even consider being a SAHM. I will be the first person to admit that it is the toughest job I have ever had! It is physically, emotionally and financially exhausting! For me it was so much easier to drop off at daycare and go to a job each day. We had routines and schedules that rarely fluctuated. We were organized. But I only had one kid then and longed to spend more time with her each day. The dynamics of the 2nd child can be summed up in one word: "WOW!" I dreamed of cooking 3 meals a day, taking the kids on regular outings, no more laundry piled up, having dinner ready for Dad when he came home....Hmmmm evidently I wasn't paying attention in class on that lecture day??? I often tell friends that I have learned more from being a SAHM than any student loan could ever pay for! After being a SAHM for a year and a half now I am still a rookie and would love to hear from you on tips, tricks and experiences on being a stay at home parent!
