From time to time I am able to cut my grocery bill by using coupons matched up with sale ads.  I get really motivated, organize my coupons and then life happens and I drag two kids to the store and end up spending twice what I had intended and forget about half of the items on my list.  Well I decided to stick to it today had my list (Grocery IQ for iPhone a must have) and my coupons organized by aisle of the store and ran out of the house before anyone knew I was gone and here is the result:

8 piece fried chicken ($4.99 - Lunch! They were frying it & the whole store smelled like fried chicken couldn't resist)
4 cans Carnation Evaporated Milk ($1.00 ea had $.50/2 coupon that doubled=$.50 ea)
5 cans Welch's 100% juice concentrate (on clearance $1.11 each)
2 cans Juicy Juice apple juice concentrate ($2.29 ea had $1/2 coupon that doubled=$1.29ea)
2 Onions ($.79/lb = $.99 for two medium sized)
1 Bunch of bananas ($.65/lb high but we were out & wasn't going elsewhere just for bananas=$1.94)
1 pkg mushrooms ($1.00)
1 gallon Borden Milk ($3.69 had $1 coupon that doubled so =$1.69)
1 Johnsonville Beef Brauts (reduced for quick sale $1.75 had $.55/1 coupon doubled=$.65)
1 Kids Crest toothpaste ($1.00 had $.75/1 coupon that doubled = FREE)
2 Reames frozen noodles ($1.88 had $1/1 no dbl & $.75/1 coupons doubled =$1.26 for two)
1 Chef Boyardee mini ravioli ($1 no coupon just on sale)
2 Hillshire Farms Beef smokies ($2.50 ea had $1/2 coupon doubled =$3 for two)
2 El Monterey Tornados ($2.49 ea had $1 coupon doubled & BOGO coupon=$.49 for two)
2 Hiland dips ($1.00 each no coupons)
1 Coffee-Mate ($2.77 had $1 off coupon doubled = $.77 for the big one)
1 Di-Giorno flatbread melt ($3.19 had $1/1 coupon doubled = $1.19)
1 Red Baron singles french bread pizza ($3.83 had $1/1 coupon doubled=$1.83)
1 Oscar Mayer deli creations sandwich ($2.49 had $1/1 coupon doubled =$.49)
1 Hot Pockets Calzone ($2.36 had $1/1 coupon doubled =$.36)

Total with tax $40.09
Total savings $38.45 - 51% Off

Not too shabby! But I will do better next time! :) Stay tuned.....
